Surfs Up! Full Life, Hawaii Lifeguards Surf Instructors, and Halona’s Ocean Tours
are hosting the third year of Surf Day events in which people with disabilities are
invited and supported to enjoy the experience of therapeutic surfing at Kahalu’u
Beach - an experience many people with disabilities do not easily experience! The
entire community comes together to support this event and provide this vitalizing
experience to our friends and neighbors with disabilities. Mahalo for your
participation and support.
Cost for participants is one can of food for the Hawaii Island Food Basket.
The day includes lunch, surfing and paddling. The event also includes a kanikapila
starting at 10:00AM. Bring your ukulele or simply join us in singing, dancing and
listening to our local talent.
Full Life believes that all people, including people with disabilities, have the right and
ability to choose their own quality of life. Full Life exists to support people with
disabilities in those choices. Full Life is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in
Kealakekua, Hawaii that provides about approximately 1800 hours of services per
week to Big Island residents with developmental disabilities. In June 2006 Full Life
opened a school for adults with developmental disabilities – the Full Life Learning
Center- to help the participants gain the skills they need to achieve their goals and
dreams.
Bring your towel, sunscreen, hat, bathing suit, change of clothes, personal care
items, sunglasses, a beach chair and umbrella if available.
All are invited to enjoy our beautiful Pacific Ocean and the exceptional
companionship of the people involved in this event.
